APPOINTMENTS
Normal Appointment Booking
Call in person at our Reception desk or telephone St Andrews 476840.
The standard length of appointment is 10 minutes, but if you wish more time please tell the receptionist, and we can book you for a double appointment. We also have a small selection of 15 minute appointments. We will try our best to give you an appointment with the doctor or nurse of your choice but if this is not possible you will be offered an appointment with another member of the practice. Please note that appointments from 8.30am to 9.00am and from 6.00pm to 8.15pm are normally reserved for patients unable to attend between the hours of 9.00am and 6.00pm.
The practice also has a number of appointments reserved for telephone consultations, should you feel that a face-to-face consultation is not strictly necessary.
Urgent cases can always be seen on the same day. Please call the Practice either between 8.30am and 10.00am or 2.00pm and 3.00pm (Wednesday afternoon excepted) and your call will be put through to our Nurse Practitioner for further assistance. This senior and experienced Nurse will decide whether your condition requires a same day appointment, a home visit, or a routine appointment.
Please note that the surgery is open Monday to Friday. Outwith these days, contact the out-of-hours service provided by NHS24.
Travel Advice
Travel advice is given between 9:00am and 10:00am daily from Tuesday to Thursday.
Home Visits
Telephone St Andrews 476840 between 8.30am and 10.00am.
The receptionist will ask you for some medical details to allow the doctors to plan their rounds. We would ask you to come to the Health Centre if at all possible, as this allows for more effective use of the doctor's time, and facilities here are better.
When the Surgery is closed
Our practice is part of NHS 24. Telephone calls to our Practice (476840) will be automatically diverted to the NHS 24 receptionist who will ask you for your details before either a nurse or the doctor on call will ring you back. The doctor, who may not be your usual doctor, will be a family doctor from North East Fife. The doctor will give you advice, and may ask you to attend the out-of-hours Centre at the St Andrews Memorial Hospital. A home visit may be arranged if you are unable to leave the house due to your medical condition.
Please note: NHS 24 is unable to book appointments for the surgery, or to deal with repeat medication requests.
Surgery Hours
Monday - Friday 8:30-6:00. An additional evening session from 6:00-8:15 takes place one evening per week. Call 01334 476840 to book an appointment. Find out more about booking an appointment
